Welcome to Llangynog Community Council
Welcome
Welcome to Llangynog Community Council. Llangynog is a friendly, vibrant village in North Powys at the foot of the beautiful Berwyn mountain range, with two churches, including the world renowned St Melangell’s.
Llangynog has seven councillors who care about the village and want to help it prosper as a vibrant community.
The community council looks after community assets which are listed below.
Community councillors come from a range of backgrounds, from business, teaching, farming, social care, construction and tourism. They give their time and expertise freely. Their work is supported by a clerk, who is employed part-time.
The council’s income comes from part of the council tax called the precept, from burial fees and honesty boxes at the public toilets.
Our main responsibilities are shown below. Find out more by visiting our What We Do page. Information about where to get help can be found below.
If you have a question for the council, please use the Contact Us page or if you want to speak to an individual councillor, you can find their details on the Councillors page.
With notice and if invited, residents can address council meetings, which are held on the third Tuesday in every month (excluding August and December). Important dates, agendas and minutes can be found on our Meetings page. Important documents can be found on our Governance page.
We value the views of local residents and are always happy to hear from you.

Empower Llangynog – Reporting issues
Join us in enhancing Llangynog’s community life. By reporting on issues directly, as well as to the community council you help us to get things done. Let’s collaborate to ensure a thriving environment for all residents.
For all of the above, please also inform our Clerk so that community councillors and our local councillor are aware. It may also be useful to report potholes to FixMyStreet
